The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru has released Advertisement No. JNC/AO/01/2026 dated 23 January 2026 inviting applications for multiple administrative and technical positions. The recruitment includes Junior Administrative Assistant, Junior Accounts Officer, Junior Project Engineer, and Personal Assistant posts.

JNCASR is a premier autonomous research institution under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, known for interdisciplinary scientific research and advanced education.

Salary & Pay Scale

• Junior Administrative Assistant: Pay Level-2 + allowances
• Junior Accounts Officer: Pay Level-8 + allowances
• Junior Project Engineer: Pay Level-6 + allowances
• Personal Assistant: Pay Level-6 + allowances
• Assistant Administrative Officer: Pay Level-10 + allowances

Allowances include DA, HRA, TA and other benefits as per Central Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria (Post-wise)

1. Junior Administrative Assistant (03 Posts)

Essential Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Typing speed: 35 WPM in English
• Certified course in computer applications

Desirable:

• Degree in Commerce/Financial Management
• Diploma in Computer Applications
• Certificate in ERP/MIS

Age Limit: 18–25 years

2. Junior Accounts Officer (01 Post)

Essential Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with minimum 55% marks
• Certified course in Computer Applications

Experience:

• 6 years in Pay Level-6 or equivalent OR
• 2 years in Pay Level-7 or equivalent in Accounts/Budget work in Govt/Autonomous/PSU/University/Research Institutions

Desirable:

• Master’s Degree in Commerce/Financial Management
• Diploma/PG in Computer Applications
• ERP/MIS certification

Age Limit: Up to 30 years

3. Junior Project Engineer (01 Post)

Essential Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years experience as Site Engineer/Civil Engineer or equivalent

Desirable Skills:

• Project management, AutoCAD, GIS, MS Office
• Knowledge of construction regulations and Indian Building Code
• Cost control and budgeting

Age Limit: Below 35 years

4. Personal Assistant (01 Post)

Essential Qualification:

• Master’s Degree in any discipline
  OR
• 3-year Diploma in Secretarial/Commercial Practice

Additional Skills:

• Stenography (100 WPM) and typing (35 WPM) for Master’s degree holders
• Computer applications knowledge
• Working knowledge of Hindi

Experience:

• 2 years (for Master’s degree holders)
• 4 years (for Diploma holders) in Govt/PSU/Autonomous bodies

Age Limit: Below 35 years

5. Assistant Administrative Officer (01 Post)

Essential Qualification:

• Master’s Degree in any discipline
  OR
• Certificate Course in Computer Applications

Additional Skills:

• Professional Qualification in the area of Management/Law
• Experience in handling Administrative/Legal/Finance/Stores and Purchase Establishments/Public Relations
• Experience in ERP enabled work environment

Experience:

• 5 years at Level 8

Age Limit: Below 35 years

Selection Process

For all posts, selection will be through:

Computer-Based Online Test

• Part A: General Aptitude (Logical, Numerical, Verbal, General Awareness)
• Part B: Skill Test (Qualifying nature)

Skill / On-the-job Test

• Conducted for shortlisted candidates depending on the post

Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer is applicable.

• Application Fee: 500
• Processing Fee: 450 (for all candidates)
• Fee Exempted: SC/ST/Women/Divyang/Ex-servicemen/Transgender

Payment via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Reservation & Age Relaxation

• Age relaxation for OBC/SC/ST/Divyang as per Government rules
• JNCASR temporary/project staff with 3 years service eligible for one-time relaxation (upper limit up to 50 years)
• Regular JNCASR staff eligible for relaxation as per norms
