Kerala School of Mathematics (KSoM), Kozhikode — an advanced national centre for mathematical research and training jointly supported by the Government of India and the Government of Kerala — invites applications for faculty and administrative positions. In addition, the institute continues to accept applications for Visiting Professors and Research Associates under its rolling advertisement.

1) Assistant Professor (Fellow)

Nature of post: Permanent faculty position
Areas: Applications are welcome from all major branches of Mathematics, including Algebra, Number Theory, Geometry, Topology, Analysis, PDEs, Probability, and allied areas.

Essential Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mathematics

• Minimum 3 years of post-doctoral research experience

• Strong publication record demonstrating independent research ability

• Age normally not exceeding 35 years (relaxation may be considered for exceptional research profiles)

Pay Level

• Level 12 (7th CPC) along with usual academic allowances

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for:

• Research seminar

• Interaction with the selection committee

• Evaluation based purely on academic excellence

Vacancy: 01 post (permanent; may also be filled on deputation) as per notification.

Essential Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree from a recognized university

• 15 years of administrative experience in State/Central Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Bodies

• At least 10 years in a senior officer role in a pay scale equivalent to state pay level mentioned in the notification

• Preferable: MBA/LLB or experience in an R&D / higher education institute

• Upper age limit: 55 years (relaxation as per rules)

Pay Scale

• Rs. 95,600 – Rs. 1,53,200 (11th State Pay Revision)

Key Responsibilities

• Administration of academic and institutional operations

• HR, finance, purchase, and campus management oversight

• Handling statutory compliance, governance processes, and institutional performance support
