Departments Inviting Applications

Essential Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet either A or B:

A. Master’s Degree + NET

• Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant/allied subject.

• NET qualified (UGC/CSIR).

• Candidates exempt from NET as per UGC Regulation 2009/2016 may apply.

B. Ph.D. from Top 500 World University

Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 in:

• QS

• Times Higher Education (THE)

• Shanghai ARWU

Important Academic Relaxations

• 5% relaxation in Master’s & Bachelor’s marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD.

• 5% relaxation for candidates who obtained a Master’s degree before 19 Sept 1991.

• NET exemption applicable to Ph.D. holders meeting UGC 2009/2016 criteria.

Selection Process

Recruitment of Assistant Professors is conducted in two stages:

1. Shortlisting (as per DU Screening Guidelines)

• Screening based on a 100-point score matrix consisting of:

  • Graduation & Post-Graduation marks

  • M.Phil / Ph.D

  • NET / JRF

  • Research publications

  • Teaching/Post-Doctoral experience

  • National/International awards

• Minimum 55 marks required for shortlisting (relaxation applicable).

• 40 candidates for the first vacancy + 20 for each additional vacancy will be called for an Interview.

2. Selection Committee Interview

Final selection is based solely on interview performance.
