• Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. For one post NDT Level-2 certificate required.

• Experience: Minimum 16 years post-qualification experience in construction/supervision of hydrocarbon projects — e.g., refineries, pipelines, petrochemical plants, LPG plants, compressor stations, POL depots.

Junior Engineer (Civil) — Post codes 03 & 04

• Posts: Several (including civil for hydrocarbon/industrial sites)

• Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering

• Experience: Minimum 16 years in design/site supervision for building & industrial projects or construction/supervision of industrial/hydrocarbon projects (depending on post).

Junior Engineer (Electrical) — Post code 05

• Posts: Few

• Qualification: Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics (or combination where electrical is a branch)

• Experience: Minimum 16 years in the design/construction of electrical works for buildings/infrastructure/industrial projects.

Junior Officer (HR) & Junior Officer (Admin) — Post codes 06 & 07

• Posts: HR & Admin openings (small number)

• Qualification: BBA / Graduate (any discipline for Admin/HR roles; distance mode accepted for these posts)

• Experience: Minimum 16 years in the relevant area (entire gamut of HR / administrative work).

Age, reservation & relaxations (highlights)

• Upper age limit: 50 years for general (subject to conditions).

• Standard relaxations:

  • SC / ST: +5 years

  • OBC (NCL): +3 years

  • PwD: +10/13/15 years (UR/OBC/SC-ST respectively)

  • J&K domicile (1980–1989): +5 years

  • Ex-servicemen: as per Govt. of India rules

• Experience-linked relaxation: 1 additional year of upper-age relaxation for every extra year of experience (up to 3 years), subject to maximum age cap (52 years).

Selection process & interview

• Shortlisting: Based on scrutiny of online applications and supporting documents. Only provisionally shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview.

• Personal Interview: Details (date/venue) will be uploaded on MECON’s website and communicated via registered email. MECON may modify the selection mode if required.

• TA for interview: Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed rail/bus fare as per rules (III AC / CC or road @ ?7/km or actual, whichever is less), subject to production of tickets and TA form.

Remuneration & perks

• Salary: IDA pattern basic + DA (as per E-0 scale).
