NHM Maharashtra Recruitment 2025 – Community Health Officer (CHO) Posts

National Health Mission (NHM), Government of Maharashtra has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for Community Health Officer (CHO) positions on a contract basis.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have one of the following educational qualifications:

• BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery)

• BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery)

• B.Sc. Nursing or B.Sc. in Community Health

Candidates must possess valid registration certificates from the respective councils. Those completing internships before the closing date are eligible to apply.

Selection Process:

• Online Written Examination (CBT): 100 objective-type questions (no negative marking).

  • Topics include: Public Health, Maternal & Child Health, Family Planning, Communicable & Non-Communicable Diseases, Nutrition, Mental Health, General Knowledge, and NHM-related programmes.

  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 45 marks out of 100.

• Document Verification will follow for shortlisted candidates.

Training & Posting:

• Selected candidates will undergo 6 months of Certificate Bridge Course Training at designated health training centers under NHM Maharashtra.

• During training, a stipend of ?10,000/month will be paid.

• After successful completion and passing the Exit Exam, candidates will be appointed as Community Health Officers at Health & Wellness Centres with:

  • Salary: ?25,000/month + up to ?15,000 performance-based incentive.

Important Details:

• Age Limit:

  • General: 18–38 years

  • Reserved categories: up to 43 years (relaxations as per government rules)

• Application Fee:

  • ?1000 (General), ?900 (Reserved) – payable online.

• Examination Centres: Various locations across Maharashtra (online test).

• Bond: Candidates must serve for a minimum of 3 years after training or refund ?1,03,000.

• Nature of Post: Purely contractual; not a permanent government position.
