Essential Qualifications (Key Highlights)

• PhD in relevant discipline is mandatory for all new entrants

• First Division in UG and PG (or minimum 6.5 CGPA / 60% marks)

• Degrees must be from recognized universities / institutes

• At least one degree (UG / PG / PhD) must be from:

  • CFTIs, or

  • Central / State Universities, or

  • Top-100 NIRF-ranked institutions, or

  • Foreign universities ranked within QS / THE Top-500

Experience Requirements

• As per post level and NIT (Amendment) Statutes, 2017

• Experience considered from:

  • Central / State funded institutions

  • NITs, IITs, IIMs

  • CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, DBT, DST, and other national R&D labs

  • PSU / reputed industry (turnover > ?500 crore)

  • Overseas institutions (QS / THE ≤ 500)

Age Limit

• Fresh appointments beyond 60 years are generally discouraged

• Exception possible for exceptionally meritorious candidates

• General / OBC: 2000

• SC / ST / EWS / PwBD / Women: 1000

• Overseas Candidates: 5000 (or equivalent)
