Eligibility Criteria (Essential Highlights)

Knowledge of Punjabi: Mandatory for all posts (Matric level or equivalent).

Educational Qualifications (Examples)

• AE (Electrical): B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engg. in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics (55% marks).

• AM/IT: B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engg. in CS/IT with 60% OR MCA/IT with 60%.

• Accounts Officer: CA/CWA/CMA.

• JE Posts: Diploma in the respective engineering branch with 60% marks.

• LDC / Typist: Bachelor’s degree with 50% + 120-hour computer course (‘O’ Level acceptable).

• ALM: 10th + NAC in Lineman Trade.

• ASSA: ITI (Electrical/Electrician/Wireman) with 60% + 1-year apprenticeship OR Diploma in related stream.

Age Limit

• 18 to 37 years (general)
  Relaxations applicable for Punjab-domiciled SC/ST, BC, PwD, government employees, widows/divorced women, etc.

Salary Structure (As per 7th CPC)

• ?47,600: AE, AM/IT, Accounts Officer

• ?35,400: Divisional Accountant, JE (all streams), Law Officer-II

• ?19,900: LDC, ALM, ASSA, Telephone Mechanic, Electrician-II

Note: All new appointments are subject to a 3-year probation, during which only minimum admissible pay is applicable (without DA or increments).

Selection Process

Group A & B Posts (AE, AM, AO, JE, DA, Law Officer)

• Single online CBT (100 questions)

• Subject (50), Punjabi (20), GK (10), Reasoning/Aptitude (10), English (10)

• Negative marking: 0.25

• Qualifying marks: 50% (General), 40% (Reserved)

Group C Posts (ALM, ASSA, LDC, Electrician, Telecom Mechanic)

Part I (Punjabi Language): 50 questions, qualifying test (50% required), no negative marking
Part-II (Main Exam): 100 questions, 1 mark each, 0.25 negative marking

• Pattern varies as per post—technical subjects for technical roles, mixed sections for clerical posts

• Merit list based strictly on Part-II scores
