CSIR–National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad, has announced recruitment for Security Officer, Multi-Tasking Staff (12 posts), and Project Staff positions (14 posts). 1. Security Officer — (Advt. No. 05/2025)

Post: Security Officer — 1 post (UR)
Age limit: Not more than 35 years (as on 05-01-2026)

Pay & Emoluments: Level 7 (Rs. 44,900–1,42,400); approx. Rs. 90,100 total emoluments.

Who can apply:
Primarily Ex-servicemen JCO (Subedar or above) or equivalents in paramilitary forces with required years of security experience. Short-service commissioned officers/assistant commandant equivalents have reduced experience requirements.

Job responsibilities include:
Campus security management, vigilance, movement control, CCTV supervision, coordination with police, managing outsourced security staff, incident investigation, firefighting & safety, and availability for duty round-the-clock as required.

Selection process:
Screening → Physical Test → Personality Assessment → Written Test (Paper-I & Paper-II). Final merit is mainly based on Paper-II.

• Application fee: Rs. 500 (exempt for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Women).

• PwBD not eligible due to job requirements.

• Two-year probation period; posting transferable within CSIR/NGRI.

• No TA/DA for tests.

(UR-6, EWS-1, OBC-4, SC-1; certain posts identified for PwBD)

Upper age limit: 25 years (as on 05-01-2026)
Pay: Level 01 (approx. Rs. 35,973 total emoluments)

Education: 10th pass (essential); 12th pass and relevant experience desirable.

Typical duties:
Housekeeping, office upkeep, dak handling, photocopying, section opening/closing, assisting R&D units, guest house duties, gardening, vehicle logbook work, and shift duties as needed.

Selection process:

2. Trade Test

3. Competitive Written Examination (CWE) — final merit based on CWE.

Exam pattern:

• 150 questions, 2 hours

• General Intelligence (25), Quantitative Aptitude (25), General Awareness (50), English Language (50)

• +3 for correct answer; –1 for wrong answer

• Medium: English/Hindi/Telugu (except English section)

3. Project Staff Positions (PA-09/2025)

Walk-in recruitment for Project Associate-I, Project Associate-II, and Senior Project Associate under various research projects including Himalayan geo-hazard mitigation work as per the official notification.

Key positions & eligibility

Project Associate-I (PA-I)

• M.Sc./M.Tech in Geophysics/Geology/Earth Sciences

• Emoluments: Rs. 25,000 / Rs. 31,000 + HRA

• Age limit: 35 years

• Duties: field seismology, GNSS, GIS mapping, etc.

Project Associate-II (PA-II)

• M.Sc. + 2 years experience

• Emoluments: Rs. 28,000 / Rs. 35,000 + HRA

• Age: 35 years

Senior Project Associate

• M.Sc./Ph.D + relevant experience

• Emoluments: Rs. 42,000 + HRA

• Age: 40 years

• Duties include terrain modelling, GPR/MASW surveys, seismic & thermal data analysis.

Interview requirements:
Original certificates + one set of photocopies, CV, ID proof, and passport photo. Engagement is project-based and temporary; no TA/DA.
