Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications & Experience

PROFESSOR (Sl. No. 01)

• Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline.

• Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals.

• Total research score of 120 as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2.

• Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience, with successful Ph.D. guidance.

• OR An outstanding professional with Ph.D. and 12 years of exceptional achievement (subject to specific criteria).

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (Sl. No. 02 to 10)

• Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline.

• Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).

• Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience.

• Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals.

• Total research score of 75 as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2.

• Desirable Qualifications: Subject-specific specializations as mentioned in the notification (e.g., Nyaya/Indian Philosophy, Inorganic Chemistry, Anatomy & Pharmacognosy, etc.).

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (Sitar – Sl. No. 11)

• Option A: Doctoral degree + 8 years teaching/research experience + high professional performing ability + quality publications.

• Option B: Traditional/professional artist with Master's degree + 'A' grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan + 8 years outstanding performing achievement + experience in curriculum design.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Sl. No. 12 to 15)

• Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject.

• Must have cleared NET (or equivalent) conducted by UGC/CSIR.

• Exemption: Ph.D. holders as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (with specific conditions).

• OR Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in top 500 (QS/THE/ARWU).

• Desirable Qualifications: Subject-specific specializations (e.g., Logic/Feminist Philosophy, Artistic Handicraft, etc.) as per notification.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Graphic Art – Sl. No. 16)

• Option A: Master's degree with 55% marks in relevant subject + NET/Ph.D. as per UGC norms.

• Option B: Traditional/professional artist with Bachelor's degree + studied under reputed master(s) + 'A' grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan + ability to teach theory.

• Desirable: Specialization in Printmaking, strong creative portfolio, proficiency in digital tools (Photoshop, Illustrator), exhibition participation.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Esraj – Sl. No. 17) & (Manipuri Dance – Sl. No. 18)

• Option A: Master's degree with 55% marks in relevant subject + NET/Ph.D. as per UGC norms.

• Option B: Traditional/professional artist with Bachelor's degree + studied under reputed master(s) + 'A' grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan + ability to teach theory.

• Desirable for Manipuri Dance: Proficiency in practical and theory of Rabindra Nritya.

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (Sl. No. 19 to 22)

• Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science (or equivalent professional degree) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).

• Consistently good academic record.

• Knowledge of computerization of library.

• Must have cleared NET (or equivalent) conducted by UGC/CSIR.

• Exemption: Ph.D. holders as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (with specific conditions).

Key Instructions for Candidates

• Good Academic Record: Average of at least 55% marks in Secondary (Class X), Higher Secondary (10+2), and Honours degree level, in addition to mandatory 55% at Master's level.

• Relaxation: 5% relaxation in eligibility marks for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates.

• OBC Certificate: Must be of current financial year (2025-2026) and specifically mention "Non-Creamy Layer" status. Certificate must be valid for Central Government employment.

• EWS Certificate: Must be valid as on the last date of application (issued by competent authority).

• PwBD Certificate: Disability should not be less than 40%.

• Shortlisting: Based on Academic/Research Score as per UGC Appendix II (Table 2 & Table 3A). Ratio: 1:15.

• In-Service Candidates: Must apply through proper channel or submit No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.

• Publications: Upload self-attested copies of all publications with impact factor and UGC-listed journal details.

• Past Service: Counting of past service will be subject to submission of release order and last pay certificate at the time of joining.
