CSIR–National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bengaluru, has announced walk-in interviews for multiple Project Staff positions across various ongoing and upcoming research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for engineering graduates, postgraduates, and diploma holders to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace research in India’s premier national laboratory.

The engagements are purely temporary, project-based, and co-terminus with respective projects.

• Multiple PAT-I profiles related to UAV testing, CATIA modelling, and thermoplastic processing.

18 December 2025

• PAT-I (ECE/CS/AI-ML)

• PAT-I (Chemistry/Polymer Tech/Chemical Engg.)

• PAT-I (NET/GATE)

22 December 2025

• PA-II (Mechanical Engineering – Diploma)

• Multiple PAT-II roles (Aero/Aeronautical/Mechanical)

Available Positions & Essential Qualifications

Below is a summarized snapshot of the key vacancies:

1. PAT-II (Rs. 28,000 + HRA / Rs. 35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE)

Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/ECE/CS/AI-ML/Microwave with 2 years experience
  OR

• M.E./M.Tech in the same disciplines
  Job Focus Areas:

• EM Design, Radome Simulation, RF Testing

• Python/Fortran coding for EM applications

• Lightning protection verification for LCA MK-II Radome

2. PAT-II (NET/GATE) – CS/AI-ML/Data Science

Stipend: Rs. 35,000 + HRA
Work Areas:

• Deep learning, generative models

• Hyperparameter optimization

• Technical documentation

3. PAT-I (Rs. 25,000 + HRA) – Aerospace/Mechanical

Key Work Areas:

• Thermal cooling system experiments

• UAV flight testing, data processing

• CATIA modelling, composite tooling

• Thermoplastic laminate processing

4. PAT-I (ECE/CS/AI-ML)

Roles include:

• RF Testing, EM Simulation

• Software development (Python/Fortran)

• Terahertz antenna design

• AI/ML based system assessment

5. PAT-I (Chemistry/Polymer/Chemical Engineering)

Job:

• Chemical characterization of resins

• Composite fabrication

• Resin casting techniques

6. PAT-I (NET/GATE) – CS/AI-ML/Electrical/ECE

Work Areas:

• Deep learning model development

• MATLAB/SIMULINK-based control law design

• Simulation for fighter aircraft control systems

7. PA-II (Rs. 20,000 + HRA) – Diploma (Mechanical)

Responsibilities:

• Fibre routing, sensor prep, instrumentation

• CAD/CAM (CATIA), CNC programming

• Teaching support, documentation

8. PAT-II (Aero/Mechanical) – Multiple Roles

Typical Work Areas:

• CFD & Aerodynamic modelling

• UAV flight testing

• CAD/CFD analysis

• Turbomachinery simulations

• MATLAB/Python coding

• Wind tunnel testing
  Tools may include: StarCCM+, Fluent, ICEM, CATIA, SolidWorks, Hypermesh.

Stipend Structure

• PAT-I / Project Associate-I: Rs. 25,000 + HRA

  • Rs. 31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE qualified

• PAT-II / Project Associate-II: Rs. 28,000 + HRA

  • Rs. 35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE qualified

• PA-II: Rs. 20,000 + HRA

Candidates with GATE may receive the higher stipend only if the project specifically requires GATE qualification.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Bring original certificates, one set of photocopies, and a recent passport-size photograph.

• Carry a Government ID (Aadhaar/other) and duly filled application form.

• Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible.

• Separate applications are required if applying for multiple posts.

• No TA/DA is provided for attending the interview.

• Selection may include an interview, written test, or any method decided by the committee.

• Final selection and waitlist results will be uploaded on the CSIR-NAL website.
