West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) invites online applications for 447 vacancies across managerial and technical positions under Notification No. MPP/2025/04 dated 24.11.2025. These appointments will be made on a regular basis in Class-I (Non-Technical) and Class-III (Technical) cadres across units/offices in West Bengal.

1. Vacancies Overview

A. Assistant Manager (HR&A)

• Total Posts: 20

• Pay Level: Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,60,500 (Level 08)

• Category Breakup: UR–03, UR(EC)–03, SC–02, SC(EC)–03, ST–01, OBC-A–01, OBC-A(EC)–01, OBC-B–02, UR(PwBD)–02, EWS–02 

Essential Qualification:
Graduate + MBA/MPM/MHRM (full-time 2 yrs) with specialisation in Personnel Management/HR
OR PG Degree/Diploma (2 yrs) in Personnel Management/HR from UGC/AICTE/IIM/IIT/XLRI approved institutes.
(Dual specialisation accepted with HR/PM having equal/higher marks.) 

B. Assistant Manager (F&A)

• Total Posts: 26

• Pay Level: Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,60,500 (Level 08)

• Category Breakup: UR–04, UR(EC)–05, SC–04, SC(EC)–01, ST–02, OBC-A–02, OBC-A(EC)–01, OBC-B–01, OBC-B(EC)–01, UR(PwBD)–02, EWS–03 

Essential Qualification:
Graduate + CA / CMA (Final)
OR MBA (Finance & Accounts) (2 yrs full-time) from UGC/AICTE/IIM/IIT/XLRI recognised institutions.
(Dual specialisation allowed with F&A not carrying lesser marks.) 

C. Junior Engineer (Electrical) Grade-II

• Total Posts: 401

• Pay Level: Rs. 36,800 – Rs. 1,06,700 (Level 06)

• Category Breakup:
  UR–100, UR(EC)–52, UR(EX-SM)–12, SC–52, SC(EC)–28, SC(EX-SM)–04, ST–16, ST(EC)–09, OBC-A–28, OBC-A(EC)–13, OBC-B–20, OBC-B(EC)–08, UR(PwBD)–14, SC(PwBD)–04, EWS–25, EWS(EC)–12, EWS(EX-SM)–04 

Essential Qualification:
Full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering (3 years) from institutes recognized by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development. 

2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

• Minimum: 18 years

• Maximum: 32 years

• Relaxations:

  • OBC-A/OBC-B: +3 years

  • SC/ST: +5 years

  • PwBD: +10 years

  • Departmental employees: As per the official notification.

3. Employment Bond

• Assistant Manager (HR&A) & (F&A): Rs. 3,00,000

• Junior Engineer (Electrical): Rs. 2,00,000
  Minimum service commitment: 4 years (1-year probation + 3-year service).

4. Selection Process

Two-stage process:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – 90 minutes

   • MCQ: 85 marks

   • Viva-voce/Interview: 15 marks

   • Total: 100 marks

2. Personal Interview
   Followed by a Pre-Employment Medical Examination.
